Global Media Awards
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) are partnering to launch a new Global Media Awards program focused on technology and content programming at the 2009 CES. Peter O. Price, President and CEO of NATAS, applauded the joint initiative, noting, "We anticipate wide participation and attendance at the ceremony, which will invite entries from a broad spectrum of creators, producers, and distributors of content and technologies."
Global Media Awards Call for Entries is now open. Submissions must be postmarked by Sept. 12, 2008.

Categories for the Global Media Awards include short form, advertising, website/Internet, repurposed linear/traditional content, long form, platform and user experience/program guide.
Important dates:

| September/October 2008: | Blue Ribbon Panel judging |
| October 19-22, 2008: | Nominations announced in Las Vegas during the CEA Industry Forum |
| January 8, 2009: | Winners announced at an awards banquet ceremony on January 8, 2009 at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in The Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada |
