Where is the press room located this year?


We have two press rooms. One is at the Sands Expo and Convention Center/The Venetian (Sands/Venetian), Room 203. The second is located in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) South Hall Connector, Room S229, where it has been for the past several years.

Where can press/analysts register for the International CES, and what will I need in order to register?


Members of the press and analyst community can register online. To qualify for a press badge, press and analysts need to submit their valid credentials and be approved by the CES Media/Analyst Center. If you have any questions, please contact the CES Media/Analyst Center at press@CE.org or 703-907-4365.

What are valid types of credentials for editorial press registration?


One of the following:
  • Copy of or an Internet link to a published industry-related article (with your name in byline) from the last six months
  • Copy of publication masthead listing you as an editorial contributor
  • A current photo press ID from an official media outlet

One of the following:

  • Copy of or an Internet link to a published industry-related financial report from the last six months
  • Copy of or an Internet link to a published industry-related article (with your name in byline) from the past six months

When will I receive my press/analyst badge?


Once registered, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail. Badges will begin mailing in September.  If you submit your registration before December 1, 2008, you'll receive your press badge in the mail prior to the show. If you do not receive your badge by mid-December, please contact International CES press registration at press@CE.org or 703-907-4365.If you submit your registration after December 1, 2008, you will be able to pick up your badge on-site at the press/analyst registration in either the Sands Expo and Convention Center/Venetian (lower level lobby) or the Las Vegas Convention Center press room (S229).

In the LVCC press room and the Sands/Venetian press room, you will find the tools and assistance you need to gather notes, write stories and quench your thirst at International CES.

Are there special rooms available for the use of editorial press/analysts?


Interview Room
An interview room, located in the Sands/Venetian press room or the LVCC press room, may be reserved by journalists and analysts for up to two hours for on-site interviews. For reservations or any other press room services, contact Jamie Lilly or press@CE.org, or 703-907-4365.

On-Site Press Room and Lounge
The International CES Press Room is reserved for journalists and analysts to provide you with all the tools you need before, during and after the show.

Will there be food available for press/analysts?


International CES Press Lunch Coupons
To accommodate your busy schedule during the show, all press and analysts will be given lunch coupons for each day of the show (the coupons will be attached to your press/analyst badge). You will need your press/analyst badge and lunch coupon to pick up your lunch between 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., or as long as supplies last, at either the LVCC press room or the Sands/Venetian press room.

Is there broadcast media assistance available for the use of editorial press?


International CES provides Web, radio, TV broadcast media with state-of-the-art technology to help you cover the show. We can tailor a small reporting studio for you or help you find an exciting spot on the show floor and provide the equipment for a 5-minute stand-up for anchors. Whatever your needs, International CES helps you get your story.

Can exhibitors have a list of the pre-registered media and analysts?


Yes, beginning in November, all registered exhibitors can access a list of pre-registered media and analysts in the Exhibitor Resource Center of www.CESweb.org.

Can press and analysts attend conference sessions?


Yes. All editorial press and analysts can attend conference sessions free of charge. You must bring your editorial press/analyst badge for admittance. This includes Knowledge Track and Partner Program sessions.

Note: Non-editorial press cannot attend conference sessions without registering for them and paying applicable fees.

What is the keynote admission and seating process for press members and analysts?


Again this year, keynotes will be held in the spacious Palazzo Ballroom at The Venetian. This ballroom accommodates 3,500-4,000 attendees, a staggering 2,000 seats over the total capacity of our previous facility.

VIP seating for Press/Blogger badge holders begins one hour prior to the start of each keynote. Please note that all VIP seating is on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early. See the lineup.

The Venetian is conveniently located next to the Sands Expo and Convention Center. To get there, take the complimentary Sands/Venetian Express directly from the Las Vegas Convention Center, or take the shuttle buses from any official CES hotels directly to the Sands Expo and Convention Center/The Venetian. Tip: If you are staying at Treasure Island, the Mirage, Harrah’s or the Imperial Palace, you can simply walk from these hotels to The Venetian. Follow the signs to the keynote addresses and exhibit areas.

With more than 90 percent of registered media members attending Press Day in 2008, the schedule of events is always highly anticipated. Media can expect another streamline schedule this year, with 12 of the 13 exhibitors participating hosting their events on the first and second floors of the Venetian.

Can children attend International CES?


No, children may not attend the International CES. The International CES is not open to the general public, and all attendees must be in the consumer electronics industry to be eligible to attend the show. Children, who accompany you to Las Vegas will not be granted access to the International CES unless they are over the age of 16 and have proof of industry affiliation.
