Two huge consumer powerhouses, MTV and Gibson Guitar, have thrown their hats in the exhibitor ring for the largest consumer technology tradeshow, the International CES, happening January 8-11, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Last year, CES attracted hundreds of exhibitors whose products and services displayed in their booth had to do with the development, enhancement, storage and/or distribution of content. This year’s content exhibitor list will be even better: Sling. DirectTV. EchoStar. Blockbuster, TV Guide and Sony Pictures. And now MTV.
Gibson Guitar, the leader in musical instrument manufacturing, is known worldwide for producing classic models in every major style of fretted instrument. This music technology innovator is coming back to the 2009 International CES and will likely showcase a variety of musical acts. Gibson’s HD.6X-PRO Digital and Robot Guitar represent the biggest advance in music in over 70 years.
The International CES features 2,700 exhibitors spanning 30 product categories from markets including audio, digital content creation and distribution, digital imaging, embedded technology, gaming (digital entertainment), high-performance audio & home theater, video, home networking, in-vehicle technology and wireless. Approximately 20,000 new products are launched at CES each year.
Register today for the 2009 International CES to learn, network and investigate new technology emerging in the gaming/digital entertainment industry and many other consumer technology markets. It's free if you sign up before November 1.

We know the economy has impacted everybody’s wallet, but when it comes to booking airfare to CES, there are ways to save. Choosing CES as your one consumer technology tradeshow is — for starters — a great way to save money. Rather than traveling to multiple cities around the globe to conduct business, CES could be THE ONE trip you make, connecting you with more than 130,000 consumer technology professionals and more than 2,700 exhibitors from 140 different countries.
Here are ways to get the best deal on airfare to the International CES:
Buy your ticket now. A 14-day advance purchase used to be good enough, but with oil prices in such flux – with many speculating that the prices will only continue to rise – locking in airfare now is likely prudent. - Travel midweek. Tuesdays through Thursdays are generally less expensive times to fly, and lucky for you, the 2009 International show begins Thursday and ends Sunday (January 8-11). Consider staying the entire duration of the show to get the best airfare.
- Shop around. If you are booking on a travel website, sanity check the rates by visiting the airline’s website, too. Plus, travel sites don’t feature every airline that flies into Las Vegas.
- Check out McCarran International Airport’s site for information on which airlines service the airport, flight information, local transportation and more.
